YEOVIL LITERARY FESTIVAL EVENT
The Magic of Literary Landscapes.
A 'literary landscape', in Anthony Gibson's eyes, is a stretch of country that is integral, as inspiration or setting, to a novelist, poet or diarist. In this illustrated talk, complete with lots of lovely words and pictures, he will discuss the magic which is created when beautiful words and beautiful places come together, drawing on the two books he has written on the subject: With Magic in my Eyes - West County Literary Landscapes and The Coloured Counties - Literary Landscapes of the Heart of England. Authors featured range from John Cowper Powys and Thomas Hardy, to A E Houseman and George Eliot, whilst the landscapes stretch from the far west of Cornwall to the South Shropshire hills.
A £1 ticket levy is included in all stated ticket prices.
