Alan Johnson was a Labour MP for 20 years before retiring ahead of the 2017 general election. He served in five cabinet positions in the Governments of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown including Education Secretary, Health Secretary and Home Secretary. Alan's award-winning childhood memoir, This Boy, was followed by Please Mr Postman and The Long and Winding Road completing the trilogy. His highly acclaimed novels The Late Train to Gipsy Hill and it's sequel One of Our Ministers is Missing have firmly cemented him as a best-selling author. Alan will be talking about his new novel Death on the Thames and also his new book on Harold Wilson. Taking his writing career from fact to fiction to fact.
