Personal Development and Wellbeing Workshop

We can be heroes, not just for one day an experiential 2 hour workshop exploring the use of the Heroes’ Journey structure for wellbeing and personal development using Dramatherapy techniques.

"There are only two or three human stories, and they go on repeating themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before”
Willa Cather, 1953.

From the deep wisdom of Carl Jung psychology, to the “Momomyth” of Joseph Campbell, passing through the literary reflections of Christopher Vogler and the creative and ritual explorations of Paul Rebillot, the “Hero’s Journey” model has been explored extensively and applied to different fields. It represents a structure which we can use to interpret every myth, fairy tale, screenplay…any narrative in fact, including our own life’s journey! The Hero’s journey can help us individuate our own mission, confront our demons, finding our own strengths, and realise our potential.

Marta Paglioni, registered Dramatherapist (HCPC, BADth) and Postgraduate Researcher for the faculty of Health and Social Sciences of Bournemouth University and Yeovil District Hospital, will facilitate an experiential workshop which will allow participants to creatively engage with their own “Heroic Selves” using a variety of techniques such as body movement, drawing, creative writing, guided visualisations and others.

Leaving ‘The Ordinary World” for a short time, the possibility will arise for participants to connect with an inner sense of mission and purpose, finding what can help and guide them, confront with some of their “Demons of Resistance”, and possibly go back home with an inner “Reward”.

Please wear comfortable clothes.

This is a free event but tickets must be booked in advance.

Please be aware that you will need to stay for the whole workshop as leaving earlier or arriving too late would affect your own and other participants experience .
