'Magic, Myths and Monsters': Inclusive Pottery Workshops 12-18 years

Celebrating the Yeovil Literary Festival held at Westlands in October, we are hosting inclusive pottery workshops for disabled children & young people and their parents/carers looking to learn new skills and get creative. Led by our Creative Clay expert and inclusivity champion, Deborah Clarke. Delving into the theme of Magic, Myths and Monsters, participants will be making their own fantastical characters from well-loved novels to take home.

The session will start with pre rolled clay and encourage young people to explore a range of textures, shapes and ideas with a selection of character templates to choose from. After that the possibilities are endless! The workshop will be fully inclusive and accessible with an emphasis on self-expression and creativity. Parents /carers are very welcome (and encouraged) to join in too! After the workshop your creations will be taken away to be fired in a kiln and returned ready for collection from Westlands Entertainment Venue 2 - 3 weeks later.

We are able to offer subsidised places thanks to funding received from Somerset Council’s Community Inclusion and Activity Team.

Workshop 2: Saturday 28th October 3:30pm – 5pm (12 - 18 years)
Teacher:
Deborah Clarke, Creative Clay for All
